Stop Crevice Corrosion, Pack-rust, and Coating Failures with HRCSA.

Welcome!

Part 1: Why Corrosion Remains Un-Mitigated Despite SSPC SP10 (dry abrasive blast) and coating with 3-coat ZEU System.

Background: Corrosion beings where salts, steel, water, and oxygen meet on steel surfaces.

To stop steel corrosion, one must first mitigate both topical (surface salts) as well as ionically bonded salts. While pressure washing is relied upon to remove salts, pressure-washing without a salt mitigation additive will not be enough to break free ionically bonded salts. Effective salt mitigation can only be achieved with a combination of turbo-tip |+| high-pressure |+| flow volume |+| salt mitigation additive.

Sandblasting is No Way Out!

The following bearings (below) were dry abrasive blasted to bare steel then coated with zinc, epoxy, urethane less than 24 months before this photo was taken. Despite a noteworthy investment of time, effort and money, corrosion hot-spots inside the connections continue to affect structure-critical areas through freezing of bearings, thinning of steel, and pack-rust build between plates.

The first step in mitigating corrosion is to mitigate both topical and ionically-bonded salts from both surfaces as well as inside plates.

Achieve this cost-effectively by use of high-pressure water cleaning [~7,000psi, 6gpm, hot water range], in conjunction with a salt mitigation additive. Hot water is especially useful in reducing waste-water through evaporation by 80%, boosting salt mitigation initiatives and heating the steel for faster drying.

Part 2: Three Easy Steps to Realizing Corrosion-Free Steel Structure Rehabilitation.

Step 1: Mitigate Salts through High-Pressure Water Cleaning with salt mitigation additive.

Blow-dried and ready for coating.

Effective high-pressure water cleaning removes loose paints, loose rust, salts and rust scale from steel.

With Termarust HRCSA self-priming topcoat, there is no requirement for a profile for its adherence opening the door for pressures in the 7,000psi range.

Step 2: Apply HRCSA Penetrant between plates to provide lubricity and inside pack-rust to chemically stop crevice corrosion.

Step 3: Apply ONE COAT HRCSA self-priming topcoat to complete the corrosion mitigation process.

Termarust HRCSA provides lubricity between bearing plates, a unique formula to stop crevice corrosion and pack-rust and is elastomeric so does not micro-crack at bearings, joints, and connections as structures expand and contract.

Why Termarust HRCSA over traditional hard-film forming paints?

  • 25-year field-proven able to chemically stop crevice corrosion and pack-rust.
  • UNIQUE 5-year corrosion mitigation warranty protection against crevice corrosion, micro-cracking at connections, and against overcoating peeling. [Case studies confirm ability to perform for decades.]
  • Requirements for high-pressure water cleaned substrate notably reduces surface preparation and containment costs with easy-to-use single component and single-coat system accelerating application times to a minimum.
